Dr. Allen L. Gutin received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ohio State University in 1971 after completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Muskinghum College in 1967. His initial veterinary experience was in the Washington D.C. area in a large multi-doctor companion animal practice, plus a small solo farm animal/horse practice. He returned to Columbus in 1974 and has since then continued his professional career at Linworth Animal Hospital.

He is married to Jane and has three grown children, David, Daniel, and Sarah.

His pets include two Lhasa Apsos named Lily and Petal.
